Quotes from
independent readers:
“...
the story has the making of a compelling, emotional drama ...”
“The
writing style is commendable for its regular use of action over dialogue. Script is a Rocky with
a soccer ball.” |

ENZO’S
GOAL is one of Laszlo Hege’s most vibrant screenplays that is
generating buzz because it is unerringly targeted at the global
marketplace. It deals with the most popular sport in the world – Enzo’s
Goal is about soccer – and the music of Brazil!
Blame
It On Rio meets Bend It Like Beckham as Enzo Esposito, a funny,
hard-headed donkey of a modest Italian from Naples goes to Rio to become
an expert in the Brazilian style of playing – only to lose almost all he
has ever had in the process. He gets mixed up with local underworld
figures and also falls in love with a Rio rock queen Andreia while his pro
playing career slides toward oblivion.
After
many trials and tribulations Enzo manages to regain the last shreds of his
self-respect to win out with a decisive goal in a championship game . . .
His estranged girlfriend is there to share his triumph . . .
